Past Fund Raisers
In conjunction with the UW-SP Positive Psychology students we are proud to announce the following Fund Raiser lineup! Please attend, have some fun, eat some good food, bid on some auction items, and (OK, so I am a little biased) support a wonderful cause.
uWSP Positive Psychology Fundraisers on Behalf of Central Wisconsin Habitat for Humanity
and the Stevens Point Salvation Army Hope Center Homeless Shelter
Fall 2008
1) 1. Brat Sale at County Market (this already took place back in early October)
2) 2. Benefit Night at Noodles and Company – 10% of all profits at Noodles and Company between the hours of 4pm-9pm on Thursday, November 20 will be donated to Habitat and the Salvation Army. So, plan to have dinner at Noodles on the 20th in order to eat a good meal and support a good cause!
3) 3. Rummage Sale in the UWSP Dreyfus University Center – Friday, November 21 from 10am – 2pm
4) 4. Bake and Jewelry Sale in conjunction with the Tinsel Trail Arts and Crafts Fair at the Stevens Point Holiday Inn on Sunday, November 23rd from 9am-4pm
5) 5. Silent Auction in the Dreyfus University Center – December 3-6th. The auction will have a large number of great items donated from local businesses, including gift certificates for area restaurants, beauty salons/spas, and grocery stores, furniture, hotel stays, two Kalahari Resort suites, autographed items from the Packers and Brewers, and much, much more! This is a great way to buy holiday gifts at a discounted price while helping a great cause. A “buy it now option” will be available on all auction items as well. (Auction hours will vary, exact times will be announced soon.)
Check the results of last semester's fundraising, and the list of sponsors!
Central Wisconsin Habitat for Humanity and the
Portage County Salvation Army
Thanks the UW-SP students of Positive Psychology, their professor Jeana Magyar-Moe, and Michele Dickinson, Wisconsin Campus Compact UWSP Service-Learning Coordinator, for their fundraising and promotional efforts last semester.
Last semester’s class raised over $6500 to be shared between the two organizations!
This very creative class volunteered over 600 hours during the semester doing fundraising, working at both the Salvation Army and two different Habitat for Humanity work sites, building a float, and raising community awareness of both organizations.
We especially would like to thank the 77 corporate and individual sponsors who helped the class achieve its goals by donating time, services, and products for the class’s fundraising and promotional efforts!
